About Coach Luke

I have more than five years of basketball coaching experience, working with complete beginners through to representative-level players. Growing up on Australia’s Gold Coast, I represented my city and competed at school and club level. I have also coached basketball camps and volunteered within the local basketball community.

My coaching has helped multiple players progress from club basketball to city and state-level representative teams. One player progressed from complete beginner to Division 1 club basketball, Gold Coast city representation and South East Queensland selection in under two years. Another earned selection for a Queensland state team within months of working with me.

My philosophy is simple: every player develops differently. I identify each athlete’s strengths and weaknesses, target the areas holding them back and build a personalised plan around their game.

A clear progression pathway

A measurable system for improvement.

Players do not improve by simply turning up once a week and shooting around. LRM Basketball uses a structured, level-by-level system that makes development measurable and gives every player a clear next step.

01

Assess

Identify the player’s strengths, weaknesses and current skill level.

02

Train and measure

Assign progressive drills, personalised coaching cues and weekly homework matched to the player.

03

Master and progress

Measure control and consistency, advance each drill to the next level, then reassess and repeat.

Sessions focus primarily on ball-handling, game-ready individual moves and shooting, with defensive fundamentals included where appropriate. Players record their drills and feedback in a notebook so progress can be tracked and the plan adjusted every week. There is no guesswork: each skill has a clear progression pathway, and every athlete moves through it at the right pace for their ability.
